2023 Bus Information
Welcome to the 2023 school year. We ask families to make themselves familiar with the below information regarding students using Surf Coast Secondary College (SCSC) school bus services to ensure their children arrive at the College in time to start their day.
SCSC students have multiple bus routes which are available within our designated neighbourhood area (DNA). These services are controlled by Public Transport Victoria (PTV) and provided by McHarry’s Buslines.
A valid MYKI card or a Geelong Transit Student Pass (TSP) is essential for travel on these services and your child must carry their PTV approved College ID card while travelling on public transport. Families have the option to purchase a half or full year student pass in their area (Geelong) and may then be able to claim the DET conveyance allowance reimbursement if they meet the eligibility criteria. For further information CLICK HERE.
To determine if you are eligible or for further information on TSP and Conveyance Allowance eligibility criteria, please see here. If you are eligible, please follow these steps below:
- Complete the Conveyance Allowance form
- Take this completed form with your child’s student ID card* to your local train station
- Purchase and pay for half yearly or full year MYKI card
- Return the completed Conveyance Allowance form along with your MYKI receipt to the College Administration Team for processing.
* If your child does not have a student ID card or they do not attend photo day they will need to apply for a PTV student card using the below form (PTV charge a $9 fee per student ID application)
